roof foil insulation membranes on the market measure 1.2 metres * 40 metres and wider sizes are not common. However, houses have different floor areas and require different sizes of insulation materials. This can easily result in the insulation not being wide enough and needing to be spliced during installation. Aluminium foil tape is a perfect splicing tool. It is safe, easy to use and cost-effective.

  1. What isaluminium foil tape?

Aluminium foil tapes are usually made of aluminium, some also contain glass, tin or steel. The metallic elements in aluminium foil tape make it more durable than plastic tape. Most aluminium foil tapes can withstand temperatures from -40°F to 350°F. Because all the metals used in aluminium foil tapes are relatively soft, the tapes are highly ductile. The best aluminium foil tapes combine the flexibility and protection of aluminium, copper and lead foils with first-class adhesives.

  1. How to use aluminium foil tape for insulation splicing

The various types of aluminium foil tape have many uses in construction work. Aluminium foil tape can be used for bubble foil insulation, foam insulation, plastics and other materials commonly used in construction. It creates a strong protective seal even when taped to uneven surfaces. Some people use tape for insulation, but aluminium foil tape is more effective because it provides better protection against the elements. These properties allow aluminium foil tape to protect the exterior from the elements and harmful chemicals.

First unroll the aluminium foil insulation and lay it out on a flat, level surface, then splice the two pieces together. It is worth noting that the two layers should be stacked 1 to 2 centimetres apart to prevent leakage more effectively!

After applying the aluminium foil tape, press it firmly and flatly so that the tape fits tightly to the material.

  1. Advantages of using aluminium foil tape

Aluminium foil tape is very tough. It maintains its integrity in extremely cold and hot temperatures. Aluminium foil tape is resistant to harmful temperatures and fires, does not become brittle in extreme cold and does not deform in extreme heat. It is also flame retardant, which is important for home safety.

Landy has introduced state-of-the-art equipment that breaks the industry’s limitations, with bubble foil insulation available in widths of up to 2.4 metres. The maximum width of the insulation roll can be up to 2.4 metres, which can be customised to suit the area of your home that needs to be insulated, but of course, if more than 2.4 metres is required, splicing will still be necessary.

LANDY has two self-operated brands of ‘LANDY’, ‘LANDY’ and ‘INSUL-PACK’, and its products have passed CE, AWTA, ASTM, SGS, BSCI and other professional certifications.
